DISTRICT 20-6A RECAP

District 20-6A Recap

AUSTIN THROOP

First hand | 10/14/2025

The boys Competed at the District 20-6A championship.

Varsity started off the day, and Longhorns ran well as a herd. They kept the pack close and had a really tight 1-5 split. Led by Junior Daniel Hasouris (14th), the Longhorns stormed into the finish back to back with Nathan Difalco (16th) and William Haldeman (17th) right on his heals. Emilio Armijo finished in 20th with Joshua Deleon rounding out the scorers in 27th. Seniors Dristin Amos, and Nathan Scott where on the defensive and did their job perfectly, placing 29th and 34th respectively, ahead of other teams #5 guys. Though the boys kept their split close, they unfortunately were out matched on this day and their season came to and end. Excellent work Varsity boys! You had a miraculous season, and had many successes!

The JV boys, came out ready to avenge the varsity boys. With an incredibly motivated and stacked front 3 or Mathis Danican (3rd), Elijah Lybarger (7th) and Trenton Welch (8th), the boys took an early lead. The JV squad was depleated though, competing with only 5 young men and no defense, every ounce of energy counted. Wyland Hofle answered the call and pushed through to a season best time and 2pth place, with Travis Prater crossing the line in 45th just enough to beat Alief Elsik by 1 single point! bravo JV boys! the future is bright with this scrappy group.

The fresh duo of Mason Donaldson and Xavier Alvarez pushed on to individual glory. Securing his first medal of the season, Xavier Alvarez placed 20th for the Horns. Mason Donaldson ran a great race for a season best in 30th place. Great job freshman boys!

The longhorns concluded their season, but are already starting to gear up for next season. Practice will begin at the beginning of the summer, and the first meet with be Friday 8/7/2026.
