The Boys Cross Country program competed this last saturday at the Spring Branch ISD invitational. This meet was one of the most competitive meets in the area for the weekend, bringing forth some of the fastest schools in the region, and a whole host of amazing individual talent. The Boys Varsity team finished 8th for the day in a close race for points. The Boys post a season best team average of 17:24 with a 1-5 split of 37 seconds. For those that don't know, this is indicative of strong pack running, and excellent point distribution. Led by Junior Daniel Hasouris who ran a season best of 17:03.9 for 5k, the scoring Horns where Daniel Hasouris, Emilio Armijo, Nathan Difalco, William Haldeman, and Joshua Deleon. 

The JV boys improved on the varsity placement by taking 6th place overall. Stellar performances by the Dynamic Freshman duo of Elijah Lybarger and Mathis Danican helped the boys with their low stick numbers. Elijah placed 4th overall in his first 5k race of the season with a very impressive time of 17:48. Mathis went to battle, and despite loosing his shoe around the 4 kilometer mark, still power in for 8th place and a time of 18:03. Luke Garcia, Travis Prater, and Wyland Hofle rounded out the scorers for the Horns. 

The longhorns will continue their season next week at the LCISD XC Jamboree.
