The Boys Longhorn cross country team loaded up and took a trip down 36 to Sealy High School for the 5th annual Frio Friday Night Lights. The boys raced in the Elite Boys Varsity and JV Divisions.
The JV kick off the evening with stellar performances and an 8th place team finish is a stacked field. Freshman phenom Elijah Lybarger had an excellent night, Leading the JV squad with a 33rd place finish out of 141 racers. Bruno Martinez (43), Hayes Rorie (44), Travis Prater (47), and Akshay Jha (49) rounded out the scorers for the Longhorns.
The sun set and the lights turned on, and the Varsity Boys brought the spark! Taking 6th place in the Elite field, the team was led by Senior Joshua Deleon who placed 16th overall! Emilio Armijo (24th), Dristin Amos (37th), Daniel Hasouris (39th), and Nathan Difalco (43rd) rounded out the top 5 scorers for the Longhorns. The Boys ran a team average of 14:14 for the 4 kilometer course, and had a 1-5 split of 51 seconds. Excellent work Longhorns!
